If trouble occurs, check the following points before returning the player for service.

Turn on the
POWER switch,
but nothing
appears on the
display.
AC adaptor is not plugged into
the outlet or DC IN jack
correctly.
Plug in the AC adaptor
correctly ((BT P. 9).
The Auto Protect function of AC
adaptor is working.
Disconnect the AC adaptor and
connect it again after 2—3
minutes.
The alkaline batteries or
rechargeable battery are/is not
installed correctly, or dead.
Install the alkaline batteries/
rechargeable battery properly,
charge the rechargeable
battery or replace with new
batteries (o^ P. 27—30).
An audio CD is
inserted and the
power is on, but
buttons on the
player do not
function.
When an audio CD is being
played with Macintosh, [ j,

While playing an audio CD with
Macintosh, these player’s
buttons do not function.
Use the CDT Remote Panel to
play an audio CD with
Macintosh ([ET P.21,22).
The player can not
be turned off.
System lockup.
Press RESET switch located at
the bottom of player by using a
pointed object like a pen (do
not use a pencil).
Player (especially
center spindle),
rechargeable
battery or AC
adaptor is warm.
This is not abnormal. If they
become hot, consult your
dealer.
Disc cover can not
be opened.
The LOCK switch is moved
toward the rear of the player.
Move the LOCK switch to
opposite direction.
The optional
rechargeable
battery can not be
charged.
AC adaptor is not connected,
the rechargeable battery is not
installed or POWER switch of
the player is not on.
Connect the AC adaptor, install
the rechargeable battery or turn
on the POWER switch of the
player.
The optional
rechargeable
battery runs down
too soon.
The rechargeable battery
capacity has been reduced and
the battery life has been
shortened by being charged too
often after using for short
periods.
Refresh the rechargeable
battery (BT P. 29). If the
battery runs down quickly even
after refreshing, replace with
new one (o^ P. 29).
