PIN MATRIX

The utilization of a pin matrix panels vastly reduces the number of patch
cables required to patch up a sound. This means you have less cables
hanging over the front panel getting in the way of the controls.

Also the matrix panel enables signals to be split or ‘mixed’

Notes:

Be aware that the pins are quite fragile. Take care to insert and extract
slowly and perpendicular to the front panel.

The matrix panel is not buffered itself, but many of the input circuits and
output circuits are. Generally, you will not see a drop in signal when pins are
inserted, but not in all cases.

Using the 10K Ohm matrix pins usually ‘mix’ the signals better – but in some
cases a small drop in signal level may result.

Use either the small zero Ohm ‘shorting’ pins, or the longer 10K ‘resistor’
pins. Try either – use which gives the best result for what you are trying to
achieve.

There are simply too many combinations of patches to describe in detail on
what patch is effective and which is not.
