What is the Internet?

Internet

is a communications system for computers.

Cables, phone lines, and radios connect huge numbers of
computers around the world. These connections allow many
simultaneous public and private communications.

The Internet does not have an owner or manager. It is a
cooperative effort between individuals, private organizations,
universities, businesses, and governments.
