3.1

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING

3.1.1 Engine Oil Pressure
1. Remove the engine oil pressure switch, and install an

oil pressure gauge.

2. Start the engine. After warming up, read the oil pres-

sure at idling and at rated speeds.

3. If the oil pressure is less than the allowable limit,

check the following:

Engine oil sufficient
Oil pump defective
Oil strainer clogged
Oil filter cartridge clogged
Oil gallery clogged
Excessive oil clearance
Relief valve stuck
