19 Chapter 4 : Operating Your VCR
Playing a Tape
1. To begin playing a tape, place it in the TV/VCR Combination’s cassette compartment. If
the erasure prevention tab has been removed, the tape will begin playing automatically. If
the erasure prevention tab is intact, press the PLAY button on the front panel or on the
remote control.
2. To pause the tape and display a still frame, press the PAUSE/STILL button on the remote
control.
3. To stop the tape, press the STOP/EJECT button on the front panel or on the remote control.
Searching for a scene
If you are looking for a particular scene, you can use the FF and REW buttons to find the
scene faster.
1. Press the FF button dur-
ing playback to search
quickly in the forward
direction. Press the FF
button a second time to
search at 7X normal(in
SP speed) or 11X nor-
mal (in EP).
2. Press the REW button
during playback to search quickly in the reverse direction. Press the REW button a second
time to search at 7X normal (in SP speed) or 11X normal (in EP.)
If you press FF or REW while the tape is stopped, the TV/VCR Combination will quickly
wind your tape in the selected direction. No picture from the tape will be displayed, but the
tape moves at a much higher speed without the picture.
