MAY NOT

be the physical center of the room, depending on where the listener

making the output level adjustments was positioned.

Output Level Adjustment Trims

The main output level adjustments for the 5.0 should be made using the internal test tone, follow-
ing the procedures outlined in the section of this manual describing Sound Level Calibration (see
page 35). However, in some instances you may wish to change the levels using an external test
signal generator, a test disc or some familiar piece of audio program material. The 5.0 permits these
adjustments to be made, though they are not recommended as a substitute for initial calibration
using the internal generator.

To trim the output levels using an external source, first follow the procedures outlined for Sound
Level Calibration as shown on page 35. Next, make certain that the proper input source is selected.

To begin the procedure, press the

Balance Control

button

twice. The first press will bring up the

standard balance level adjustments. The second press will take you to the

Trim Speaker Levels

menu (Figure OSD-24). When the menu appears, use the

to raise or

lower the output level. Note that the changes from the internally-set levels will appear as a positive or
negative offset below the speaker position indicator.
