Changing the Screen Lock Pattern

This feature allows you to change the previously stored unlock pattern and update it if necessary. This
process is similar to changing your password from time to time.

1. From the Lock screen, tap Screen lock.
2. Retrace your current pattern on the screen.
3. Tap Pattern and repeat steps 3 - 7 from the previous section.

Deleting the Screen Lock Pattern

1. From the Lock screen, tap Screen lock.
2. Retrace your current pattern on the screen.
3. Tap None.

What If I Forget my Pattern?

If you forget your device's lock pattern, you can unlock your device or reset it using your Google™ Account
credentials. When you enter the wrong unlock pattern too many times, you should see an option at the bottom
of the screen that says Forgot pattern? Follow these steps to use either your PIN or email address.

Important! You can only enter an incorrect lock pattern 5 times before the device is locked.

Important! If you are unsuccessful in retrieving your lock pattern or unlocking your device, please contact

customer service for assistance.

To unlock your device with a PIN code:

1. Tap Backup PIN (located at the bottom of the screen).
2. Scroll down and tap the Type PIN code field and use the onscreen keypad to enter the backup PIN code

you setup when you created your lock pattern.

3. Tap Done.
4. If you have forgotten your current pattern, tap Pattern from the Screen unlock settings menu and follow

the procedures outlined in see “Setting an Unlock Pattern” on page 69.

To unlock your device using your Google account:

1. Tap Forgot pattern? (located at the bottom of the screen).
2. Tap the Username (email) and Password fields, use the on-screen keyboard to enter your Google Account

credentials, and tap Sign in to complete the login process.

3. If you have forgotten your Google Account credentials, visit the Google website to recover them. If you still

cannot get your Google Account credentials, contact your wireless carrier for additional options.

PIN Lock and Unlock

1. From the Lock screen, tap Screen lock > PIN.
2. Enter a PIN number using the numeric keypad and touch Continue to confirm the password.
3. Confirm the PIN by re-entering it and tap OK to confirm.

Your phone now requires you to enter this PIN number in order to unlock the phone.

Password Lock and Unlock

1. From the Lock screen, tap Screen lock > Password.
2. Enter a password using the keypad and tap Continue to confirm the password.
3. Confirm the password by re-entering it and tap OK to confirm.

Notification panel

The Notification panel includes a pull-down list to show information about processes that are running, recent
notifications, and alerts. For more information, refer to “Customizing the Notifications Panel” on page 11.

1. From the Home screen, tap

Apps >

Settings >

Notification panel.

2. In a single motion, touch and hold a desired function then drag it to the ACTIVE BUTTONS area.

Toolbox

This feature allows you to customize a quick access feature that hold up to five frequently used application
shortcuts. Once activated, this onscreen button can be placed anywhere. This button appears atop off current
screens and can only be disabled via either the Notifications Panel or via the Toolbox screen.
For more information, refer to “Customizing the Toolbox” on page 11.

Important! There can only be at most five applications assigned to the quick access Toolbox button.

To activate the Toolbox:

1. From the Home screen, tap

Apps >

Settings >

Toolbox.

2. In a single motion touch and slide the Toolbox slider to the right to turn it on. The slider color indicates the

activation status.
When activated, the

Toolbox access button appears on the current screen.

– or –

1. From the Notification panel, tap

Open Grid view to display additional functions.

2. Toggle on the Toolbox activation button (turns green).

To deactivate the Toolbox:

1. From the Home screen, tap

Apps >

Settings >

Toolbox.

2. In a single motion touch and slide the Toolbox slider to the right to turn it off.

– or –

1. From the Notification panel, tap

Open Grid view to display additional functions.

2. Toggle off the Toolbox activation button (turns grey).

To customize the Toolbox applications:

1. From the active Toolbox screen, tap Edit.
2. Place a check mark alongside up to five applications. These will be quickly accessible via the on-screen

button.

3. Tap Save once you have completed the assignment of your applications.

Easy Mode

This application allows you to set your display to the conventional layout of Standard mode or provide an
easier user experience for the first-time smartphone users using Easy mode.

1. From the Home screen, tap

Apps >

Settings >

Easy mode.

2. Select one of the following options:

Standard mode: Provides conventional layout for the apps and widgets on your home screens.

Easy mode: Provides easier user experience for first-time smartphone users on the home screens.

3. Place a check mark alongside those applications you wish to have available within the Easy mode

screens.

4. Tap Done and give your device a few seconds to update the device with the new look and feel.
