Password Protection

To help prevent unauthorized use of the CD-5916 an optional password
may be established. Once set, the unit will require the password each time it
is turned on or it will not function beyond the initial screen displays.

Setting A Password

The factory setting is “disabled”. To “enable” the password feature the steps
are as follows:

Turn on the power to the CD-5916 and wait for the screen:

C H E C K I N G S Y S T E M . . .

While this is displayed, press and hold the “3” key until the password
entry screen is displayed:

N E W P A S S WO R D :

Using the number keys on the keypad, enter a six-digit numeric
password. Press the “START/YES” key when satisfied with your
password selection (the “STOP/NO” key can be used as a backspace
key). After the “START/YES” key is pressed a prompt will appear for
you to confirm the password by your entering it a second time.

Starting Up Using A Password

Once a password has been established the CD-5916 will require that it be
entered each time the unit is turned on. To start up the unit when the
password is “enabled”:

Turn on the power to the CD-5916 and the following screens will be
displayed in sequence:
