No clock is coming into the WORD IN,
or the incoming clock's frequency is
incorrect.
Plug in the correct clock.
When slaved to an
another DA-38
The unit is not connected to the
master with the PW-88S sync cable.
Connect the units by using the
PW-88S cable.
The master unit is turned off.
Turn on the master unit.
A different sampling rate from the
one used on the master unit is
selected on the slave.
Use tapes formatted at the same
sampling rate.

The tape Is broken.
Replace the tape.

You attempted to record from the digital Input to which the
PW-88D (dubbing) cable from the source unit Is not connected.
Connect the PW-88D cable to the
digital I/O port.
