Check Your Flame

Your burners have been preset by the manufacturer for opti
mal flame performance. A blue flame, possibly with a small

yellow tip, Is the result of the optimal air and LP gas mix

ture. (See diagram below)

End of Cooking Session

Yellow Tip

Primarily Blue
Flame

The flame should be checked before the initial cooking ses
sion and periodically throughout the grilling season, espe
cially after storing the grill over a long period of time, if the
flame Is significantly yellow in color, then you are not getting

the appropriate amount of LP gas in the air /LP gas mixture.
This could be a result of a blocked burner from grease drip
pings or from insects building a nest inside the burner or
burner opening. You should follow the Burner Maintenance
section of this manual for cleaning the burners.

Grill Cooking

The cast iron burners heat up the Ceramic Briquettes

underneath the grill, which in turn heats the food on the grill.

The natural food juices produced during cooking fall onto

the hot Ceramic Briquettes below and vaporize. The subse

quent rising smoke bastes the food, as it travels upwards,

giving it that unique barbecued flavor.

Roasting Hood Cooking

(Bonza & Bonza Deluxe Series Only)

Grills equipped with a roasting hood give the option of

cooking with hood closed to form an 'oven’ for roasting

food, such as roasts of meat, whole chickens, etc. When
the hood is closed, a large amount of heat is trapped inside
the grill. Thus, it is IMPORTANT to make sure that all the

burners are turned to the low position to prevent burning of

the food. Avoid lifting the hood unnecessarily as heat is
lost every time the hood Is opened. Use the temperature

gauge to check the approximate temperature inside the
grill.

K

Never leave your LP gas grill unattended during use

or cleaning.

After each cooking session, close the hood {Bonza™
series only) and turn the grill burners to the “high” position
and burn for five minutes. This procedure will burn off cook
ing residue, thus making cleaning easier.

the Grill Storage Cover (55) back on the grill.
