For details regarding your specific installation and sensor locations,

please refer to any additional drawings and wiring details included in the
Calibration & System Details” section of this handbook.

Frame mounted sensors are secured to the frame using M8 x 20mm

bolts together with suitable washers, split washers and nuts.

Specialised sensors (such as Water Conductivity and PH Probes) may

have additional enclosures containing signal conditioning electronics and wiring
interconnections. Details of any specialised modules and sensors present in the
supplied system are also contained in the “Calibration And System Details”
section of this handbook.

Route the sensor cables into the enclosure using the following

procedure.

1.

Locate each sensor in the correct position.

2.

Route the cables neatly back to the base of the main enclosure.

3.

Loosen and remove the cable gland (or conduit adaptor) lock nut.

DO NOT REMOVE THE CABLE GLAND.

4.

Thread the sensor cables through the enclosure cable entry holes and
secure the cable gland using the lock nut.

5.

Ensure the cables pass from the outside of the box to the inside.

The order in which the cables are fitted into the holes is not important
to the operation of the station, however try to achieve a tidy wiring
layout by avoiding twists and tangling of the wiring.

6.

Seal all spare enclosure holes using cable glands fitted with a small
section of plastic sealing rod.

This is normally undertaken before the system leaves Casella CEL.

Wiring

2.6.1

System Wiring

Basic system wiring is simple, providing the manual is studied carefully and care
is taken with connections. Wiring should be carried out only by qualified
personnel or persons who are familiar with the procedures and precautions
necessary when wiring such electronic systems.

WARNING !

Incorrect wiring may result in damage to the sensors or data

logging system. Such damage will be the customers

responsibility and is excluded from the conditions of warranty.

When working on the automatic weather station wiring, always isolate any
batteries by removing their protective fuse and also covering the solar panels to
prevent power generation. Power to the logger should be removed by
unplugging the power connector.

2.6.2

Sensor Wiring

All systems are supplied with a system specific wiring diagram included in the
Calibration & System Details” section of this handbook. This wiring diagram
illustrates the termination of sensor wires to the Sensus data logger.
