Video Connection Options

Use the following guidelines to determine the best video connection for the subscriber’s home
entertainment system. To determine the available video inputs on the TV, check the manual
supplied with the TV or the TV itself.
The DCX3600-M series offers the following video outputs:

HDMI

HDTV

Connects to a high-definition TV (HDTV). Provides both audio and
video to the HDTV.

YPbPr
(optional feature)

HDTV and SDTV

(Component Video) Connects to the color-coded component
video input on a high-definition TV (HDTV).

Video (composite)

SDTV only

(Composite Video) Connects to the standard definition video
output on a SDTV.

Audio Connection Options

When connecting to a home theater receiver, depending on its inputs, you can use the following
DCX3600-M series audio outputs:

Connection type

Description

HDMI

Connects to a high-definition TV (HDTV) or an audio/video receiver (AVR). Provides high
fidelity digital audio to the HDTV or AVR.

Digital audio

(Optical S/PDIF) Connects to the Dolby® Digital 5.1 audio or PCM output on a digital audio
device.

Audio L/R

(Baseband Analog Audio) Connects to the analog audio left/right stereo inputs on a TV.
