VMS Indications
When a VFS session occurs over a Vipersat network involving automatic
switching between nodes, the establishment of an SCPC carrier for the transmit-
ting Remote can be observed using VMS ViperView.
The Vipersat network that has been used as an example for illustrating the func-
tionality of VFS is shown below in figure 3-18. This represents a typical Viper-
sat network. In this example, an SCPC link is set up between Remote-1 and the
Hub to provide the carrier for streaming the data file from a PC/workstation on
the Remote-1 LAN to a PC/workstation on the Hub LAN.

The ViperView window for VMS bandwidth displays the VFS carrier, as shown
in figure 3-19.
