Tabbing Problems:

Problem Possible

Cause

Tab fold placement inconsistent

ƒ Tabs not threaded correctly.
ƒ Tabs not centered on sensor guide’s center

line.

ƒ Tab Roll is loose on spindle.
ƒ Rollers dirty, glazed or worn.
ƒ Media feeding skewed..

Horizontal placement of tab moves

side to side

ƒ Media feeding skewed.
ƒ Media Side Guides loose.
ƒ Tab stock moving. Tab Side Guide post/Tab

Guide not set properly.

Multiple tabs placed on media

ƒ Tabs not centered on sensor guide’s center

line.

ƒ Tab sensitivity adjustment incorrect.
ƒ Tab sensor may be dirty or damaged.

Media feeds without tabs

ƒ Tab Switch not turned ON.
ƒ Out of Tabs.
ƒ Tab sensitivity adjustment incorrect.
ƒ Tab Drive Pressure knob in OFF position.
ƒ Media Sensor dirty/damaged.
ƒ Tabs not peeling off backing.
ƒ Media positioned incorrectly; missing Media

Sensor.

Tab sensitivity LED does not

illuminate

ƒ Power not on.
ƒ Perform tab sensitivity adjustment.
ƒ Incompatible tabs being used.
ƒ Tab sensor may be dirty or damaged.

Power Switch not illuminated

ƒ Unit not plugged in.
ƒ Switch not turned on.
ƒ Fuse blown.

Tabs stream feed

ƒ Tab Drive Pressure knob in OFF position.
ƒ Tab Sensor Switch not set properly. (Sensor

not reading tabs.)

ƒ Tabs not threaded properly. Missing sensor.
ƒ Incompatible tabs being used.
ƒ Tab sensor may be dirty or damaged.
