Glossary

Additive key
mix

A keyer process in which the key mix is altered:

Non-additive:

P

′ = (1–KP + F ×K

Additive:

P

′ = (1–KP + F

where P = program or preset, F = fill, and K = key

Animation

See “Logo.”

Breakaway

A transition that takes audio from one source and video from another source.

Channel

Definition 1: A single Imagestore 750, MCE or MCPM (and, specifically, its program output).

Definition 2: One of 16 audio channels.

DARS

Digital Audio Reference Signal.

Flip-flop

A mode where program and preset states swap at the end a transition.

Flip-only

A mode where program and preset states match at the end of a transition.

GPI

General-purpose interface. The MCPM and MCE have 2 GPI inputs and 2 GPI outputs. The iMC-
Panel-100 has 2 GPI inputs and 2 GPI outputs. Control panels can control MCPM-specific GPI
events to some extent. You can assign a panel-specific GPI output to a configurable control
panel button. (GUIs do not have panel-specific GPIs.)

Imagestore
750

The Imagestore 750 is a 1RU transition processor, also called a “channel branding processor.” It
has several purchase options, including a master control option that allows it to function in the
context of the combined Imagestore 750/NV5100MC master control system.

Intuition XG

Intuition XG is a combination of a graphics processor and Xmedia software.

Key, Keyer

A process that overlays a masked image

the key

on the program. A key comprises one or

two video sources: fill and (usually) a key. The key image masks the fill image. If the keyer uses
only a fill source, the key is derived from the luminance of the fill image.

Logo

A logo is (1) a graphic file or (2) an animation (a sequence of numbered graphic files) produced
by the MasterLogo application. An MCPM can store up to 64 logo images. An MCE can store up
to 400 logo images. There are 3 classes:

Static

Animation (run once)

Animation (loop).

For animation loops, one can define the pause length (in frames) that occurs after each loop run
concludes. Refer to the NV5128-MC MasterLogo User’s Guide for information.

Enhanced squeezeback

available in the MCPM-SDHD only

adds a second image layer and

optionally its audio.

Luma filter

A low-pass filter to the luminance signal that removes the chroma information. The filter is used
primarily with self keys to generate an improved keyer signal by removing the chroma
information.
