Static Routes

A static route is a path between two networks. To specify a path by which
NewsShare NAS accesses a computer outside the network (for example, NTP,
DNS, or NIS) and permit outside computers to access NewsShare NAS, choose

Network | Static Routes

. The Static Routes window appears:

NOTE: For information on IP addresses, see “Basics of IP

exit point to a network.

3. Specify a

netmask

from the list of compatible netmasks. To determine

compatible netmasks for the network IP address, click

Netmask

.

4. To add the network and gateway IP addresses of this route to the NewsShare

NAS route table, click

Add

.

5. To remove a route, select it and click

Remove

.

NOTE: Changes do not take effect until you reboot through this
software.
