SETTINGS Menus (Continued)

SOFTWARE Menu

This menu is used to show the current revision levels of system
software within your DMC-1. It also allows the DMC-1 Flash memory
software to be upgraded by use of the RS-232 port.

Please note that to accomplish the software upgrade, you will
need to connect the DMC-1 to a computer with a serial cable
(DB-9 type). The latest version of the DMC-1 software is available
on the Emotiva website. You will need to download this to your

computer before connecting and upgrading the DMC-1.

For detailed instructions on this procedure and to check for
the latest software version, please visit the Emotiva website
at www.emotiva.com.

CONTROL Menu

In most cases, there is no need to change these settings (all enabled
by default).
You should make any changes with caution. This menu
allows you to enable or disable the RS-232 port and the rear panel IR
remote control connections. The front panel IR receiver can also be

disabled if required, but make sure the rear panel IR receiver is
working correctly and is still active before doing this.

The front panel IR can be re-enabled by holding down the
remote’s MENU button for several seconds, while pointing it at

the front IR window.

For HDMI switching to function, you MUST make sure
the "GEFEN CONTROL" is enabled. Gefen engineers the
external HDMI switch box used on the DMC-1 so that is
the name you will see in the System Control Menu of the
OSD. Enabling the switch means that HDMI video signals

will switch between the DVD and SAT inputs to the HDMI output. Audio is not switched through
the HDMI connections on the DMC-1 nor are any of the other video inputs "transferred" over
to the HDMI output.
If you do not connect any HDMI inputs, there will be no output on HDMI. If
you only connect one of the two HDMI inputs, there will only be a video signal on the HDMI output
when that source is selected. This may mean that you need to use both HDMI and another video
connection to your television to bring in all the video sources switched through the various video
inputs present on DMC-1 and the HDMI switcher.
