Getting Connected and Installing Drivers (Windows)

What is a driver?

A

“driver”

is software that transfers data between the UM-1EX and application software running

on your computer, when your computer and the UM-1EX are connected. The driver sends data
from your application to the UM-1EX, and from the UM-1EX to your application.

About the driver modes

The UM-1EX has two operating modes,

Advanced mode

and

Standard driver mode

, and a

different driver is used by each mode.

* Standard driver mode supports only Windows XP SP2 or later.

If you are using Windows 98/Me/2000/ XP or XP SP1, you must turn the ADVANCED (mode
select) Switch ON before you connect the UM-1EX to your computer.

*FPT = Fast Processing Technology for MIDI Transmission

About the Driver Modes
