Step 5 - Connect FM Wire Antenna

1

Connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM 75

Ω Antenna connector on the back panel.

2

Be sure to fully extend the FM wire antenna. Make use of the small loop at the free end of the antenna to maintain its position.

3

If noise or interference occurs, use an external antenna with a 75

Ω coaxial cable (not included).

Step 6 - Connect External Audio/Video Components (Optional)

The back panel of the DVD System provides five additional

inputs and outputs you can use to connect external audio/

video components, such as a VCR, satellite receiver or

powered subwoofer.

Video 1 Input

Connect from the outputs of a VCR

(or other audio/video component) with coaxial cables.

This input enables you to enjoy Pro Logic surround

sound from videotapes playing in your VCR.

Video 2 Input

Connect from a satellite receiver or

cable box with coaxial cables. This input enables you to

enjoy surround sound from television broadcasts.

Video 2 Output

Connect to the inputs of your TV,

VCR (or other audio/video component) with coaxial

cables. Be sure to set the correct output format of the

audio signal for your component; see “Audio Setup” on

page 14.

Sub Output

Connect to a powered subwoofer (not

included) with a coaxial cable.

Optical Output

Connect to a digital recorder, such

as a MiniDisc recorder, with an optical cable. Be sure

to set the correct output format of the audio signal for

your component; see “Audio Setup” on page 14.

After connecting the FM wire antenna, keep it as hori-

zontal as possible. The antenna is directional, so you

may need to move it around to get the best reception.
