Removing and installing the processor air baffle

Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two captive screws on the faceplate securing
the top cover to the server case.

When the screws are loose, slide the top cover toward the back of the case about ½
inch.

Lift the top cover away from the server and place it out of the way.

The processor air baffle must be removed to:
■ Remove or install a processor thermal blank
■ Remove or install a processor
■ Remove or install a processor cache VRM converter
■ Remove or install a CD or DVD drive
■ Remove or install the system board
