If this is a new heat sink, remove the strip on the heat
sink that covers the gray thermal grease. If you are
re-using a heat sink, then re-apply a small bead of
thermal grease to the surface that contacts the
processor.

Place the heat sink on the processor, then tighten the
screws that secure it to the system board.

Connect the fan cable to the system board, then insert
the fan into place.

Replace the side panel by following the instructions in

“Replacing the side panel” on page 33

.

Replacing the I/O board

To replace the front I/O panel:

Remove the side panel by following the instructions in

“Removing the side panel” on page 31

.

Remove the bezel by following the instructions in

“Removing the front bezel” on page 32

.

Disconnect the cable from the I/O panel.

Important

The color and shape of your replacement I/O panel may vary from your

original I/O panel..
