Washers can be damaged if water is not removed from hoses
and internal components before storage. Prepare the washer
for storage as follows:

1. Turn the machine off and then on.

2. Select “Options,” scroll to the next screen by hitting the

arrow in the top right hand corner of the screen, and
switch the “Short Programme” to the “On” position.
Then add one cup of bleach or white vinegar to the
detergent dispenser without clothes in the tumbler. Run
the clothes washer through the complete programme.

3. Turn the water taps off and disconnect the inlet hoses

from them.

4. Activate the “Spin Only” setting by going through

“More Programmes” and lower the drain hose to

eliminate any water that may be in the drain hose. Be sure to
remove the bracket holding the drain hose and use a pan to
catch any water.

5. Disconnect the clothes washer from the electrical supply and

leave the washer door open to let air circulate inside the
tumbler.

6. If the washer has been stored in below-freezing temperatures,

allow time for the washer to thaw out prior to use.

For information on long-term storage or storage of your
washer during extreme cold temperatures, contact your
dealer for Maytag Customer Service information.
