Basic Playback

This chapter explains the RDV-1.1’s basic playback
functions.
Don’t forget to turn on your TV or projector and select
the video input to which the RDV-1.1 is connected.
If you’re using an AV receiver or hi-fi amp for audio
playback, turn that on as well and select the audio input
to which the RDV-1.1 is connected.

This section explains how to load discs.

Notes:

• The disc tray can be opened even while the RDV-1.1

is on Standby, so you don’t have to turn it on to remove
a disc. (The disc tray will take slightly longer to open.)

• The RDV-1.1 supports 8 cm and 12 cm discs. To avoid

damaging your discs and the RDV-1.1, put the disc in
the center of the disc bay.

• Only load discs that are supported by the RDV-1.1

(see page 10). Don’t load cartridge-type discs.

• To avoid personal injury, keep your hands away from

the disc tray as it closes.

• Always use the Open/Close [

] button to open and

close the disc tray. Never push the disc tray, and don’t
touch it or obstruct it while it’s opening or closing.
Don’t press down on the tray while it’s open, and don’t
load anything other than supported discs. Doing so
may damage your discs and the RDV-1.1.

• Since the RDV-1.1 does not support DVD-VR discs

with CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable
Media), do not attempt to play such discs.
