Endpoint Connectors

Your Model 8690 endpoint has various connectors that are required for an IP end-
point. Two light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the PC ports and LAN/Power jack indi-
cate link status and the speed of the connections.
The ports and connectors on the Model 8690 endpoint include the following:

External Microphone Jack: Allows you to connect an external microphone to
the endpoint.

External Speaker Jack: Allows you to connect an external speaker to the end-
point.

Reset Button: Resets the connection to the network.

Compact Flash (CF) Port: Allows you to connect a CF memory card if addi-
tional memory is needed.

Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA)
Port:
Allows you to connect a PCMCIA memory card if additional memory is
needed.

LAN/PWR Jack: Connects the endpoint to a network hub/switch and the power
supply.

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Client Port: Connects the endpoint to a host com-
puter running ActiveSync

USB Host Port: Allows you to connect a keyboard, mouse, or other USB device
to your endpoint.

Three PC Ports: Allows you to connect your PC or any other 10/100 Ethernet
device to your endpoint.
