Before you begin using your endpoint, take a moment to learn how to complete basic
tasks such as adjusting the angle of the endpoint, using the speaker and the micro-
phone, and using a headset.

Adjusting Your Endpoint’s Viewing Angle

Your Model 8690 endpoint has an adjustable base that allows you to tilt it to enhance
the viewing angle.
To adjust the viewing angle of the endpoint:

1.

Position the bottom of the endpoint’s base on a flat surface.

2.

Tilt the endpoint to the desired angle.

3.

Place the “feet” of the support mechanism in the holes on the base to secure the
position of the endpoint.

Displaying Information on Your Endpoint

Your Model 8690 endpoint has two lines of display that contain system and call infor-
mation, such as the date and time or the outside party’s name/number.

Date, Time, Name, and Extension Number

You can temporarily display the system date and time, your username, and your
extension number at any time.
To show the date and time display (while on a call, in DND, etc.):
Press

and dial

.

Outside Party’s Name/Number

If you are currently connected to an outside caller with Caller ID, you can toggle
between displaying the caller’s name and number.
To show the outside party’s name:
Press

and dial

.

NOTE:

If there is no outside party name available, the display shows CANNOT

ACCESS FEATURE.
