Connecting a
portable MiniDisc
recorder

If you connect the Sony portable
MiniDisc recorder MZ-R30/R50 to this
player using the supplied MD
connecting cord, you can operate the
recorder with the buttons on the player.
You can also record a CD on the portable
MD recorder using the specific button on
the player.

For details, refer to the instruction
manual of the portable MiniDisc
recorder.

MD (LINE)

Note

When you operate a
portable MD recorder,
use this player on AC
power. If you use the
player on batteries, the
power will not be
supplied to the
recorder.

Tips
• When this player

supplies the power to
the portable MD
recorder, the
rechargeable lithium-
ion battery LIP-8/12 in
the recorder will be
charged at the same
time.

• To enjoy better sound,

connect the optional
audio connecting cord
(RK-G136, etc.) to the
LINE IN jack of this
player and the LINE
OUT jack of the
recorder.

Connecting a portable MD recorder MZ-R30/
R50

Make the following three types of connections:
• Connection for supplying the power from this

player to the portable MD recorder

• Connection for listening to the sound of the MD on

this player

• Connection for digital recording of a CD on the MD
Be sure to turn off the power of the player before
connecting/disconnecting the AC power cord.
