Set “DOLBY DIGITAL” to “DOLBY DIGITAL” only
when you connect an AV receiver (amplifier) having a
Dolby Digital decoder to the DIGITAL OUT OPTICAL
or COAXIAL connector.
11 Press ENTER.
DTS is selected.
12 Press M/m to select the item.
Set “ON” only when you connect an AV receiver
(amplifier) having a DTS decoder to the DIGITAL
OUT OPTICAL or COAXIAL connector.

Press ENTER.
Quick Setup is finished. All connections and setup
operations are complete.
If your AV receiver (amplifier) has an MPEG audio
decoder, set “MPEG” to “MPEG” (page 66) in the
setup display (page 56).
Note
You can directly start Quick Setup only when you run it for the
first time.
To run Quick Setup a second time, press DISPLAY on the remote
or player when the player is in stop mode, and select “QUICK”
under “SETUP” in the Control Menu (page 56).
Enjoying the surround sound effects
To enjoy the surround sound effects of this player or your
receiver (amplifier), the following items must be set as
described below. Each of these are the default settings and
do not need to be adjusted when you first connect the
player.
You will find the following setup items in the setup
display (page 56), not in the Quick Setup.
Select “AUDIO SETUP” in the setup display, then set the
required items as follows.
If you connect no receiver (amplifier) (page 8)
No additional settings are needed.
If you connect a receiver (amplifier) without a
built-in DTS, Dolby Digital or MPEG audio
decoder to the LINE OUT AUDIO connector (page
10)
Set “DOWNMIX” to “DOLBY SURROUND.”
If the sound distorts even when the volume is turned
down, set “AUDIO ATT” to “ON.”
If you connect a receiver (amplifier) without a
built-in DTS, Dolby Digital or MPEG audio
decoder to the DIGITAL OUT COAXIAL or OPTICAL
connector (page 10)
After setting “DIGITAL OUT ” to “ON,” set “DOLBY
DIGITAL” to “D-PCM.” Set “DOWNMIX” to “DOLBY
SURROUND.”
