Before you replace a paper roll with a new
one
Before loading a new paper roll after you have used up
one paper roll, perform the following cleaning
operation.
Note
Since the thermal head is still very hot just after printing
is finished, be careful not to touch the thermal head
when cleaning. Touching the thermal head may burn
you.
To clean the thermal head:
Clean the thermal head heating elements, ribbon guide,
and the cleaning roller for the ink ribbon gently with a
soft cloth.
Note
If you intend to use the printer just after you have
cleaned it, be sure to use it only after it has dried
completely.
To clean the platen roller, pinch roller, and
cleaning roller used for removing dust
accumulated on the paper:
Clean the rollers gently with a soft cloth moistened with
alcohol.
To clean the paper feed roller:
Clean the roller gently with a soft cloth moistened with
alcohol while turning the pinch roller.

Clean area around the thermal head gently with a soft
cloth moistened with alcohol.
Clean the rollers gently with a soft cloth moistened
with alcohol while turning the roller.
