Symptom Cause or corrective action
The HOLD feature
cannot be activated.
 The HOLD feature cannot be activated when the
player is turned off. Press any button other than the
HOLD button to turn on the player, and then press
and hold the HOLD button. “HOLD On” appears,
and the player turns off with the HOLD function
enabled and the controls locked.
Playback stops suddenly.  The remaining battery power is insufficient to
operate the player. Charge the battery ( page 66).
 If the player encounters an audio track that is
incompatible with the player, playback stops (
page 104). Press  to select another track.
 The player has been subjected to vibration for a
long period of time. Remove the player from the
source of the vibration, and start playback again.

” is displayed as part
of a title.
 The title contains characters that the player cannot
display. Use the SonicStage or CONNECT Player
to rename the title with appropriate characters.
The screen turns off.  Press any button to turn the screen on again. The
screen automatically turns off if there is no
operation attempt by the user for the period you set
in “Display Time” when “Screensaver” is set to
“No.”
