Recording on a tape
manually

— Manual Recording

With manual recording, you can record just the
portions you like from a CD or an MD on a tape.
You can also record a radio program.

The recording level is automatically adjusted.

Insert a blank tape.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select
the desired source (e.g., TUNER) to
record.

• CD: Recording from the CD

• MD: Recording from the MD

• TUNER: Recording from the radio

Press TAPE REC z.

The tape deck stands by for recording.

Press TAPE nN to light up the right
indicator to record starting from the
front side.
To record from the reverse side, press
TAPE nN again to light up the left
indicator.

Press DIRECTION repeatedly until g
appears to record on one side or h (or
j

) to record on both sides.

When you start recording from the reverse
side, the recording stops at the end of the
reverse side even though you select h.

Press TAPE X.

Recording starts.

Tip

When you want to reduce the hiss noise in low-level,
high-frequency signals, press DOLBY NR after step 3
so “;” appears in the display.
