Recording

When recording sound with a recorder component of
KENWOOD, synchro recording is possible by setting the
INPUT SELECTOR to select TAPE1 or MD according to the
connected component.

To record a music source

1 Select the source to be recorded.

Select an input source other than TAPE 1.

2 Put the cassette deck in record-pause

mode.

3 Play the source and start recording.

Notes for using the LD, DVD or 6ch INPUT
source

When LD, DVD or 6ch INPUT is selected as the input source, the
operation is subjected to the following restrictions.

1. Both audio and video can be recorded if the source uses

analog audio.

2. Audio recording is not available if the source uses digital

audio.
However, audio recording is possible if the analog input from the
source is available (when the analog output jacks of the DVD are
connected to the FRONT audio input jacks of the AV CONTROL
CENTER and the DVD outputs analog audio signal).

3. The TAPE 2 (MONITOR) function is not available with the

digital input.

1. The played audio cannot be recorded.
2. The monitor function cannot be activated by pressing the

TAPE 2 (MONITOR) key.

3. Surround play, its adjustment, STEREO mode play, tone

adjustment and Source Direct play are not available.

Restrictions with 6ch INPUT:

Each press switches the indication.

Select the icon of the source to be played.

÷ The TAPE 1 display can be changed to the MD display and the DVD

display can be changed to the 6ch INPUT display.

÷ For the recording using a cassette deck or MD recorder, read the

instruction manual of the cassette deck or MD recorder.

÷ Recording sound from a MD recorder onto TAPE 1 is not possible

because the input selection is overlapped.

÷ Remember that varying the input level during recording causes the

recording level to be varied.

÷ The EON overriding does not occur during recording.

Regarding TAPE 2 (MONITOR)

A cassette deck or graphic equalizer can be connected to this unit’s TAPE 2 (MONITOR) terminals. If you connect a graphic equalizer, turn the
TAPE 2 (MONITOR) key ON. If you connect a 3-head cassette deck, you can monitor the source sound, or the sound being recorded, while recording.
Pressing the TAPE 2 (MONITOR) key lets you compare the recorded sound and the source sound. Refer to the operating manual for the component
you connected for further details.
