If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely, contact your Local
Lincoln Authorized Field Service Facility
for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

The output voltage cannot be pre-
set.

The weld output terminals are
always electrically “hot”.

1.

Check the output control (R2)
and associated circuitry.

2.

The meter board may be faulty.
Replace.

3.

The control Board may be faulty.
Replace.

1.

Check for an internal short
between leads #2 and #4. See
wiring diagram.

2.

Perform the

Output Rectifier

Bridge Test.

3.

The snubber board may be
faulty. Replace.

1.

Place the remote switch in
machine control. If normal oper-
ation is restored then the remote
control unit may be faulty.
Check or replace.

2.

If an error message is displayed
see

Messages.

1.

Remove any control cable that
may be connected to the 14 pin
amphenol. If the problem is
resolved the fault is in the con-
trol cable or the wire feeder.

2.

If some open circuit voltage is
present (over 3 VDC.) after per-
forming Step #1 then the prob-
lem is within the CV300.
Contact your local Lincoln
Authorized Field Service
Facility.
