Hybrid Discs

If you insert a Hybrid Disc, you must select a layer
to play back.

Hybrid Disc?
- HD DVD Twin Format Disc with both HD DVD and

DVD layers on one side

- BD-ROM Disc with both BD and DVD (or CD) lay-

ers on one side

1. Insert a Hybrid Disc.

The choice menu will appear.

2. Select the primary format (HD DVD or BD) or

secondary format (DVD or CD) on the menu
then press ENTER.
The selected playback format begins.

Notes:

To change the format, press HOME then select
[Movie] option and press ENTER. The choice
menu will appear.
To play back the CD layer on the Hybrid Disc,
select [Music] option on the HOME menu.

You can only use

b / B, ENTER, OPEN/CLOSE

and POWER buttons when the choice menu is
displayed.

You cannot change the format during playback.

Last Scene Memory

This unit memorizes last scene from the last disc
that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory
even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch
off the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene
memorized, the scene is automatically recalled.

Notes:

Settings are stored in memory for use any time.

This unit does not memorize settings of a disc if
you switch off the unit before commencing to
play it.

Last Scene Memory function for a previous DVD
title is erased once a different DVD title is
played.

Using the cursor function

Some HD DVD discs may include game software
and drawing software. If they do you can use the
cursor function for some software.

1. Press CURSOR while a disc with support for

cursor use is playing.

2. Use the eight direction buttons to move the cur-

sor.

Tip:
Example: Game/drawing software
Move the cursor to select the game target or selec-
tion item. For details on actual operations, also
refer to the operations guide for the disc.

Internet connection feature

Some HD DVD or BD-ROM discs may enable you to
access special HD DVD or BD-ROM sites, if you
connect the player to the Internet. For example, if an
HD DVD or BD-ROM site includes content such as
links to future movie trailers, you can watch the con-
tent on the player via the Internet.

1. Check the internet connection and configure.

(See pages 17 and 23.)

2. Insert an HD DVD or BD-ROM disc with this fea-

ture and start the playback.

3. Select an item from the menu.
