Vegetable Varieties

Creamed Spinach

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
1

bunch spinach, roughly chopped

4

spring onions, finely chopped

1

clove garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons

sour cream
salt and pepper

Method:
Wash and drain spinach leaves, spring onions and
garlic in a covered 3-litre casserole dish.

To Cook by Microwave:
Cook on HIGH for 6 to 8 minutes.

To Cook by Auto Menu:
Select

, then press

.

To Complete:
Drain well by squeezing between two dinner plates.
Toss through remaining ingredients. Season to taste.
Cook on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve.

Broccoli and Cheese Sauce

Serves: 2 to 3

Ingredients:
250 g

broccoli, washed,
trimmed and cut into pieces

2 tablespoons

water

Cheese Sauce:
2 tablespoons

butter

2 tablespoons

flour

1 cup

milk

grated cheese

teaspoon

mustard
salt and pepper

Method:
Place broccoli and water in a covered 2-litre
casserole dish.

To Cook by Microwave:
Cook on HIGH for 6 to 8 minutes. Drain and set
aside.

To Cook by Auto Menu:
Select

, then press

. Drain and

set aside.

To Complete:
Place butter in a 4-cup jug and cook on HIGH for 30
seconds. Add flour and mix well. Cook on HIGH for
20 to 30 seconds. Add milk gradually and stir well.
Cook on HIGH for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring halfway
through cooking. Add cheese, mustard, salt and
pepper. Mix well. Pour sauce over broccoli and cook
on MEDIUM for a further 1 minute.

Fanned Potatoes

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
50 g

butter

800 g

potatoes, peeled
salt
paprika

Method:
Melt butter in a 2-cup jug on HIGH for 1 to 2
minutes.

To Cook by Convection:
Preheat oven to 200°C. Cut potatoes widthwise in
thin slices, without cutting right through to the base.
Place potatoes on Low Rack with cut side
uppermost. Pour over melted butter. Sprinkle with
salt and paprika. Cook on 200°C for 40 to
45 minutes, basting occasionally.

Savoury Brussels Sprouts

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
500 g

Brussels sprouts

2 tablespoons

butter

150 g

bacon, rind removed
and bacon finely chopped

1

onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon

dill or basil

1 teaspoon

sugar

Method:
Wash and drain Brussels sprouts. Place in a
covered 2-litre casserole dish.

To Cook by Microwave:
Cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 minutes. Drain.

To Cook by Auto Menu:
Select

, then press

. Drain.

To Complete:
Place remaining ingredients in a 2-litre casserole
dish. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 5 minutes. Add Brussels
sprouts and cook on HIGH 1 to 2 minutes. Serve.

Serves: 6 to 8

Ingredients:
200 g

sliced snow peas

200 g

sliced carrots

200 g

sliced zucchini

2 tablespoons

chopped parsley

Method:
In a 2-litre dish combine all vegetables. Cover and

HIGH for a further 3 minutes.
