While having an intercom call, the intercom
call stops and the unit starts to ring.
L Someone is calling you from outside.
Press {TALK}, {SP-PHONE} or {DIGITAL
SP-PHONE} to answer the outside call.
Cordless handset
The handset does not work.
L Make sure that the battery is installed
correctly (page 107).
L Charge the battery fully (page 21).
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again
(page 21).
The handset does not ring.
L The ringer volume is set to off. Adjust it
(page 29).
The display shows the following and an
alarm tone sounds when I press {TALK},
{
CLEAR}, {HOLD}, {INTERCOM}, {FLASH}
or {CALL WAIT/PLAYBACK}.
No link to base
Place on cradle
and try again.
L The handset is too far from the base unit.
Move closer and try again.
L Place the handset on the base unit and try
again.
L The power cord is disconnected. Plug in the
power cord.
Static, sound cuts in/out, fades. Interference
from other electrical units.
L Locate the handset and the base unit away
from other electrical appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L Press {<} on the handset to select a clearer
channel.
L Raise the base unit antenna.
The handset stops working while being used.
L Place the handset on the base unit, and
disconnect the power cord to reset the unit.
Connect the power cord, and try again.
I cannot store a name and telephone number
in the navigator directory.
L You cannot store a name and number while
the unit is in the talk or intercom mode.
L Do not pause for over 60 seconds while
storing.
While storing a name and telephone number
in the navigator directory, the handset starts
to ring.
L To answer a call, press {TALK} or {SP-
PHONE}. The program will be canceled.
Store the name and number again.
I cannot redial by pressing {REDIAL}.
L If the last number dialed was more than 32
digits long, the number will not be redialed.
The handset beeps intermittently and/or the
following is displayed.

L Charge the battery fully (page 21).
I charged the battery fully, but the following

L It is time to replace the battery (page 107).
I cannot receive documents by pressing *#9
on the handset.
L You must set the remote fax activation to on
(feature #41, page 90) beforehand.
L Press *#9 firmly. A single beep will be
heard.
L The memory is full of received documents
due to a lack of recording paper or a
recording paper jam. Install paper or clear the
jammed paper.
The handset display is blank.
L Charge the battery fully (page 21).
The handset display exits the Caller ID List
while viewing the caller information.
L Do not pause for over 60 seconds while
searching.
