Unit status
The disc is dirty or badly
scratched.
The disc isn’t on the tray
correctly.
It cannot be read for the disc
which doesn’t cope with it.
The DVD-RAM/PD lens cleaner
has finished cleaning.
You cannot play the disc
because there is no video
recorded on it.
You have inserted a disc the
unit cannot play or record on.
The unit is hot.
The battery for the clock is
almost dead.
The fan of the rear panel has
stopped.
The fan of the rear panel has
stopped.
The unit fails to operate.
There was brief instability in the
video or audio during play or
recording. The video may be
disrupted or a few seconds may
not have been recorded.
Solutions
• Follow the instructions in “Maintenance and Handling” to clean the disc if it
is dirty.
• The disc cannot be played if it is scratched and this display doesn’t
disappear.
• See the instructions in playing discs for the correct way to set discs.
• It can not be read for the disc which doesn’t cope with it. Exchange a disc.
• Take the cleaner out of the unit.
• Insert a disc the unit can play.
• Insert a disc the unit can play or record on.
• The unit switches to standby mode automatically for safety and you cannot
operate it.
Wait for about 30 minutes until the service number disappears. After that,
turn the unit off and then turn it on.
• Select a position with good ventilation when installing the unit.
• Remove obstacles from around the vents on the bottom of the unit and the
cooling fan on the rear panel.
• To replace the battery, consult your dealer.
• All the functions will stop five minutes later for safety.
• All the functions have stopped for safety. If there is any foreign matter on
the fan, turn off the unit and remove it. When turn on the unit again, if the
unit does not operate normally, consult your dealer.
• Press [POWER] to switch the unit to off. Now press [POWER] again to turn
the unit on.
• Replace the disc or wipe it clean. If the problem persists, try turning the unit
off and on again.
When “Beep” is set to “On”, the alarm sounds if a problem occurs (for example, recording is impossible for some reason).
Note:
• The alarm may not sound under some circumstances.
