Press the MENU-UP button or MENU-DOWN
button to move the cursor to NO, and press
the SET button.
The menu protection function is now released.

Set the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch to the
LOCAL or REMOTE position.
The unit is now set to the menu protection mode.
When the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch is set
to the MENU position, the VTR is not set to the
menu setting mode, and “MENU PROTECTED”
appears on the video monitor screen.

<Notes>
If, while the menu protection mode is being set,
the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch is set to the
MENU position while the COUNTER button on
the front panel is pressed, the unit is set to the
menu setting mode, and regular menu settings
can be performed.

How to display the DIAG menu

Set the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch to the
MENU position while pressing the EJECT
button.
The unit is set to the DIAG display mode, and the
hours meter and deck’s serial number are
displayed on the video monitor.
