PL-50XA. This state-of-the-art High Definition flat-panel plasma

display monitor was specifically designed for outstanding performance in high altitude environments. With an altitude rating of over

9000 feet, this new plasma monitor offers Runco picture quality in mountain locations usually off limits to plasma displays. The

PL-50XA is actually a two-piece system - the plasma panel and the DHD™ controller with VivixII™ video processing. The digital

high definition DHD™ controller is a digital scaler that converts NTSC Video, S-Video or Component video to 720p and has includes

3:2 film detection circuitry. And since the display is the 16:9 aspect ratio, DVD widescreen movies and digital television will look the

way they were intended to look - in the widescreen format. The PL-50XA has an external Runco video processing including 3:2 film

detection circuitry. This 50-inch widescreen boasts High Definition resolution of 1365 x 768 with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The included

DVI digital input with HDCP enables a pure digital signal path for optimum image quality. Typically, fixed pixel devices provide a

much more resolved and artifact-free image when they are fed a progressive signal matched to the display’s native resolution - which

is exactly what the DHD™ controller does. It also simplifies the operation of the system, as all image adjustments (including aspect

ratio control) and video switching are done at the DHD™ controller, not at the plasma level.

Plasma technology in proving to be the most flexible and reliable type of display device currently available. The PL-50XA is considered

a fixed-pixel device. The plasma uses tiny gas-filled pixels to create an image, from ignition of gases within the cells to generate the

light displayed. This product has been skillfully engineered for the finest video performance. The advanced design accommodates

custom installation and every day operation with ease. This technology allows for great versatility to be used in any situation from a

dark dedicated theaters to light-filled rooms. At less than 4 inches thin it can be wall-mounted or used with a table top stand.
