General information

Each time espresso or steam is dispensed, the

residual water is automatically directed into

drip tray (9) a few seconds after the appliance
is switched to

. This ensures that each cup

of espresso is always prepared with fresh

water. Drip tray (9) should therefore be emptied

on a regular basis.

Preparing espresso

(figures e Ć f)

The appliance must be ready for operation.

Fill reservoir (7).

S

Turn filter holder (11) to the left and
remove.

S

Insert filter (11a) for one cup or filter (11b)
for two cups into filter holder (11).

S

Add ground coffee using measuring
spoon (13).

1 level measuring spoon for 1 cup

2 level measuring spoons for 2 cups.

S

Tap down the coffee ground coffee with
the base of the measuring spoon.

S

Clean ground coffee from the edge of filter
holder (11).

S

Fit filter holder (11) to the filter holder guide
on the leftĆhand side and turn it to the

right.

S

Place the cup(s) under filter holder (11).

S

Turn function selector (4) to

and fill the

cup(s)

S

Caution: If the volume desired is
achieved, turn function selector (4)
back to

.

S

Remove filter holder (11) for emptying and
cleaning, apply the filter retainer (figure g/2)

and shake out the ground coffee.

S

Empty drip tray (9).

Tip: Preheat thick espresso cups prior to

espresso preparation to keep the espresso

warmer for longer.

Dispensing steam

Steam can be used to heat drinks or froth milk

for cappuccinos.

S

Turn function selector (4) to

.

Green ready" indicator light (5) goes out

and the appliance starts to heat up.

Steam can be dispensed when ready"

indicator light (5) lights up green again.

Now you can either froth milk:

Half fill a cup with cold milk (1.5% fat).

S

Immerse steam wand (8) in the milk by
approximately 2 cm (do not make contact

with the base of the cup).

Slowly turn function selector (4) to

Froth the milk by circling the cup.

or heat drinks:

Immerse steam wand (8) deep into the
liquid to be heated (do not make contact

with the base of the cup).

Risk of burns

There may be some spraying after

selected. Escaping steam is very hot.

Do not touch the nozzle or point it at yourself

or others (figure k).

Complete the process by turning function

Clean steam wand (8) immediately after it
has cooled (dried milk residues are difficult

to remove).
