ALERT LEVEL DEFINITIONS

See the EICAS section for alert level definitions.

MESSAGE ADVISORY ALERTS

Message advisory alerts issue a flashing ‘MSG’ Softkey annunciation. Pressing the MSG Softkey acknowledges

the presence of the message advisory alert and displays the alert text message in the Message Window.

PFD1 FAN FAIL – The cooling fan for PFD1 has failed.

None

PFD2 FAN FAIL – The cooling fan for PFD2 has failed.

None

MFD FAN FAIL – The cooling fan for the MFD has failed.

None

AV FAN FAIL – The cooling fan for remote avionics has failed.

None

VOICE ALERTS

The following audio alerts are announced by the system using a voice of male or female gender (see the AUX

- System Setup Page to change the audio alert voice). If the optional Terrain Awareness and Warning System is
installed, voice alerts are also generated (refer to the TAWS Alerts section).

Alert Trigger

“Airspeed, airspeed”

Airspeed has exceeded Vmo.

“Minimums, minimums”

The aircraft has descended below the preset minimum descent altitude or decision altitude.

“Vertical track”

The aircraft is one minute from Top of Descent. Issued only when vertical navigation is enabled.

“Traffic”

The Traffic Information Service (TIS) has issued a Traffic Advisory alert

“Traffic not available”

The aircraft is outside the Traffic Information Service (TIS) coverage area (not available when a TAS system is installed).
