5. Check the standby status. If power supply is not in standby, proceed to step 7. Otherwise, wait until

the power supply is no longer in standby and then proceed to step 7. If the power supply continues to

stay in standby, see the power supply manufacturer’s operating manual for corrective action.

6. Turn the Battery Breaker switch to the OFF position.

7. Disconnect both positive and negative battery connections from battery string; to prevent a short

circuit, use insulated tools. Always wear eye protection when working with batteries.

8. Turn off the AC Output Switch. This will cause a drop of service voltage. It is recommended that a

service power supply be used to maintain output.

9. Disconnect the power supply’s AC Output Line from the AC Stinger.

10. Connect the power supply’s AC Output Cable to the connector labeled P2 of the AC Current/Voltage

Sensor.

11. Connect the AC Output Stinger (SPI) to the connector labeled P1 of the AC Current/Voltage Sensor.

12. Connect P3 of the AC Current / Voltage Sensor to the EDH4 Interface cable connector labeled VOUT

/ IOUT. (see Fig. 2-11).

13. Enable the AC Output Switch and the Battery Breaker.

14. Connect the EDH4 Lectro ZTT interface cable to the tamper switch located behind the front door of

the Lectro ZTT enclosure.

15. Connect the battery harness to the batteries as shown in

Section 2.7, Battery String Connections.

Use tie wraps to secure all unused battery leads away from batteries.

16. Connect the other end of the battery harness into the transponder connector labeled BAT A/B. If

present, connect battery strings 3 and 4 to BAT C/D.

17. Reconnect the positive and negative battery connections to the power supply.

18. Ensure that all connectors are firmly seated in the transponder.

19. The EDH4 Interface and battery cables can be neatly secured using the 4″ tie wraps provided in the

cable kit.

20. Turn the Battery Breaker switch to the ON position.

21. Verify the status of the LED (refer to Checking the LEDs section 3.1).

22. Refer to

Section 3.0, Configuration and Operation for transponder configuration details. The EDH4

will need to be configured with the model of the connected power supply via the transponder Web

page locally or remotely.

23. Refer to

Section 2.5, EDH4 Optional Equipment for external temperature probe, AC input voltage

sense, and additional battery strings.

For continued proper operation (especially during inverter switching events or commercial power outages),

proper grounding techniques must be utilized with the power supply chassis as well as with the transponder.

Refer to power supply manual for proper grounding techniques.
