6 Switching off the appliance

6.1 Protection against frost

To make the installation safe and prevent any risk of freezing if the
heating system shuts down or if there is a power cut, protect the
interior hydraulic circuit with a water + antifreeze mixture + corrosion
inhibitor.

Do not use mono-ethylene glycol based products (toxic
products).

Use solutions based on monopropylene glycol or on a natural
compound which also contains one or more corrosion inhibitors
(never use monopropylene glycol alone without a corrosion inhibitor).
Concentrated antifreeze: Package EG11.

Always mix water + antifreeze + inhibitor in a receptacle
BEFORE pouring it into the installation.

Respect the antifreeze percentages.

1. Carefully prepare the installation to be protected against frost:

- Flush the installation
- Clean the installation with an appropriate product
- After the final rinse, completely drain the installation.

2. Fill the installation with the water + antifreeze + inhibitor mixture

under pressure using a hydraulic pump.

3. Vent the heating installation.

4. Run the mixture through the entire installation for at least 2 hours

before starting up the heat pump

5. Check the final dose with a densimeter or a refractometer

6. Check the pH obtained

7. Affix a label in a clearly visible position showing the following

information :

- Antifreeze present in the installation
- Name of the product and the supplier
- Dosage of antifreeze and pH on commissioning

If a top-up is necessary, do it with a mixture identical to the
product used initially.

Check the antifreeze dosage and the pH once a year.

If using glycol water, the valve must be connected to a
recycling system.
