Starting and Configuring

HyperTerminal Software

1. Start the HyperTerminal software (START/

ACCESSORIES/COMMUNICATION/HYPER-

TERMINAL).

2. The software will ask for a name of the new

connection (If necessary, select File: New Connec-

tion). Type a name such as Discrete IO and save

to a convenient location such as the desktop view.

3. Set the following communication settings:

• Press File: Properties: and set “Connect

using” parameter to Direct to Com X (X denotes

the computer port being used).

• Press configure and set the following

parameters:

Bits per second: 19200, Data Bits: 8, Parity:

None, Stop Bits: 1, Flow Control: None,

• From this point, save the configuration by

pressing File, Save.

• Exit the program and restart by double-

clicking the saved file icon.

The MicroPak indicators are as follows:

kV, uA, the air and fluid trigger status (EFM guns),

HV OFF and HV ON status, Di/dt setting, the Flt

status, HV Ready, LOCal/remote switch position,

Overcurrent fault status, Feedback fault, sequence

state (EFM guns), kV out of Tolerance, and kV

low status.

Note: The di/dt inhibit command is shown, but

the status is not.

The Serial Atomizer indicators are as follows:

Speed, (Turbine Drive) Pilot Pressure, Bearing Air

Pressure, Bell Run status, Low Bearing Air status,

Invalid Data (speed setpoint is above operating

range of applicator), Loss Of Feedback, Under

Speed, Over Speed, and Speed Out of Tolerance.

previous sections of this manual or the current

Serial Atomizer module manual.

The first section details the input and outputs regarding the MicroPak.

The next section shows the inputs and outputs regarding the Serial Atomizer.

The Status row shows the real time status of the device.

The Command row shows the actual command coming in from an external device.
