Enclosure Data
A = Largest Part Dimension Across
Conveyor (Rotating or Indexing
Diameter)
R = Minimum Conveyor Loop Radius
Rb = Minimum Booth Radius (Inside)
D = Conveyor Loop Diameter
Db = Booth Diameter (Inside)
T = Standard Conveyor Throat Opening for a
Highly Conductive or Waterborne System
Tb = Booth Throat Opening (Width)
M = 9-inch from the edge of part or 18-inch
from center line of conveyor to enclosure
wall (whichever is greater).
H = Booth Height
>
Booth Height is the same as Conveyor
Height.
NOTE
Reciprocator Stroke Speed
Reciprocators are available in stroke speed 1 In/
Sec. - 5 Ft/Sec. Speeds should be specified to
provide minimum of four passes in loop. The fol-
lowing is used to determine required stroke speed:
L = Line Speed In Ft/Minute
F = Length of conveyor in loop, in feet
D = Dwell time of part in loop, in
seconds
S = Stroke length
R = Reciprocator speed required in
feet/second
Formula:
60 X F = D
L
D = R
S X 4
Booth Exhaust Air Volume (DFM) Require-
ments
Formula:
Tb X H = Sq/Ft of Booth Opening
144
Sq/Ft of Booth Opening +
nRb
= Total Sq/Ft of
12 Booth Opening
Total Sq/Ft of Booth Openings X 75 RPM = CFM
This calculation provides for an air exchange
through the booth @ 6-7 times per minute.
