4.6 External Peripheral Interface Connection

The following external peripheral devices can be connected to the external peripheral

interface connectors.

ƒ Keyboard and mouse

ƒ Serial port devices

ƒ VGA

screens

ƒ Parallel port devices

ƒ Ethernet

connection

ƒ USB

devices

ƒ Audio

devices

To install these devices, connect the corresponding cable connector from the actual

device to the corresponding IMBA-Q454-R10 external peripheral interface connector

making sure the pins are properly aligned.

4.6.1 Keyboard and Mouse

The IMBA-Q454-R10 has a dual PS/2 connector on the external peripheral interface panel.

The dual PS/2 connector is used to connect to a keyboard and mouse to the system.

Follow the steps below to connect a keyboard and mouse to the IMBA-Q454-R10.

Step 1:

Locate the dual PS/2 connector. The location of the dual PS/2 connector is

shown in Chapter 3.

Step 2:

Insert the keyboard/mouse connector. Insert a PS/2 keyboard or mouse

connector into the appropriate PS/2 connector on the external peripheral

interface connector. See
