a. Orient the new fan assembly with the captive screw on the right, as shown in Figure 19 .
CAUTION
Do not force the installation. If the fan assembly does not slide in easily, ensure that it is correctly
oriented before continuing.
b. Gently push the fan assembly into the chassis until it is firmly seated.
c. Using the Phillips screwdriver, secure the fan assembly to the chassis by tightening the
captive screw.

5. Verify that the fan status LED is steady green to indicate normal operation (see Table 8 ).
You can enter one of the following commands at the command line prompt to display fan
status:
• show chassis
• show environment fan
Installing a DC power supply
Use the following procedures for DC power supplies in Brocade VDX 6730 switches. The
illustrations show a power supply for the Brocade VDX 6730-76, but the same steps should be
followed for wiring the combined power supply and fan assembly for the Brocade VDX 6730-32.
