These side by side photos tell their own
story. The only difficulty is trying to pho-
tograph the newly formed polished bevel,
back, and cutting edge. I backed up two
grit levels to produce the scratch marks
shown here to make it easier for you to
see the fine edge.
In person you can barely see even these
scratch marks and they do not affect the
fine cutting performance. The close-up
photo on the next page shows how fine a
curl can be taken off hard to cut end grain
with chisels this sharp.
If you want to take the time to do so, you
can eliminate all the scratch marks and
leave the truly mirror-like finish discussed
earlier.
