Display Dependencies
Before updating table statistics, you can analyze the impact that the
changes might have on other objects;
•
To display all programs that depend on the statistics, click on
Dependent Programs.
•
To display all objects, including programs, that depend on the
statistics, click on Dependent Objects.
Update the Statistics
Using the Table Statistics pane, you can update the statistics of a subset of
tables.
Choose Tables
To choose tables
1. You can choose a subset of tables, or all tables:
• To choose a table, click on Update Statistics for the table whose
name is displayed in the Table field. The Update Statistics field
changes to Y (for yes), indicating that statistics for the selected table
will be updated. To deselect a selected table, click on the Update
Statistics again.
Repeat this process for all tables you want to update.
• To choose all tables, click on SelectAllTables. The Update Statistics
field for all tables changes to Y(for Yes), indicating that the update
will be performed on all tables. To deselect all the selected tables,
click on DeSelectAll. Click on UpdateStatistics. The Update
Statistics window is displayed, as shown in Figure 12-24.
