Setting Alarm Thresholds

Each object you choose is associated with a horizontal slide bar and a
meter:

The position of the red marker on the slide bar identifies the
threshold of percentage usage at which to raise an alarm. The
numeric value is shown in the % Threshold field.

The percentage value shown by the blue meter indicates the current
usage of the disk by that object.

If the threshold indicated by the slide bar is exceeded, an audible alarm is
generated and the Alarm button in the Main window turns red.

To change the alarm threshold of a selected object, use one of the
following methods:

Drag the red marker on the slide bar to the appropriate point on the
slide bar.

Enter a new threshold value in the % Threshold field to the right of
the slide bar.

Click on the right-arrow or left-arrow button at either end of the
slide to move the red marker.

Start and Stop Monitoring

To start monitoring the selected objects, click on Start. The circular icon
turns red, indicating that monitoring has started.

To stop monitoring, click on Stop. The circular icon turns black, indicating
that monitoring has stopped.

Obtain a Snapshot

You can obtain a snapshot of the disk space used by an object. To obtain a
snapshot, click on GetNow in the Monitor window. Disk-space usage is
measured immediately, then displayed.

Obtain Historical Data

You can obtain a graph of the historical data of objects by clicking on the
historical data button. This graph allows you to predict the future trend of
the monitored object. For example, if we are monitoring a data volume and
