Supported Storage Devices

The Fibre Channel converter has an integrated power supply. The Fibre
Channel converter connects a supported storage device to a supported SCSI
port on a NonStop S-series server.

Supported Storage Devices

The Fibre Channel converter can be configured with one of the following storage
devices:

CT9840FC-1 tape drive for the L700 tape library

CT9840FC-3 tape drive for the NonStop S-series enclosure

CT9840FC-4 tape drive for the 9310 tape library

CT9841FC-1 tape drive for the L700 tape library

CT9841FC-4 tape drive for the 9310 tape library

Data Connections

The Fibre Channel converter has several types of data connections:

Fibre Channel gigabaud interface connector (GBIC) that connects to a
supported storage device

A SCSI channel port that connects to one of the following on the NonStop
S-series server:

°

ServerNet/DA S-SAC

°

IOMF 2 CRU

°

S74000 or later PMF CRU

RS-232 serial port (unused)

Fibre Channel Port

The Fibre Channel converter has a gigabaud interface connector (GBIC)
housing for optical cabling. It supports data transfer up to 100 MB/sec. The fibre
channel gigabaud interface connector (GBIC) port connects to a supported
storage device.

Note. For OSM support of the CT9841FC-X tape drives, the following prerequisites are
needed:

Software Prerequisites:

G06.23 or later versions of OSM are required.

CT9841FC-X is supported on G06.16 through G06.22 by installing the G06.23 or later
version of OSM, and the appropriate SPR’s. See prerequisites SPR’s for OSM in the
“OSM Migration Guide” for G06.23 or later.
